it's kinda hit or miss... i have a bunch of friends that use it and sing it's praises.
besides, i'd be getting it from radioshack with a 30 day return policy so it's all good.

Well from what I just read on Google using the search complaints magic jack I got a huge amount of results.

Complaints range from no free 30 days, charges for 2 jacks instead of one, you don't get to use your existing phone #, uses internet explorer exclusively, you need dsl with telephone and caller ID to use, people your calling are not in the coverage area, and there is no customer service or return policy according to many complaints.

Almost every complaint said it was a scam pure and simple. Be careful bud and do a google search on complaints about magic jack before even attempting to purchase and save what little money you have for what is necessary.

As for the job. I have faith in you. Just walk in with the attitude "and believe it" that they would be lucky to have someone like you working for them. It doesn't work every time but few things do but I will tell you it will make it MUCH more likely they will hire you. Just walk in all relaxed like it's your own home and sit down and have a nice calm talk with the interviewer and that's it. Make them know they had the PRIVILEGE of interviewing YOU. 8-)

i just dumped the SIP information for a bunch of MagicJacks. if you are in control of what proxy is uses and not using the crappy hardware/software it comes with... it isnt to bad. I can tell you how to do this if you would like. works great in asterisk

Shawn, thing is i wouldn't be using my credit card at all, i'd be getting one from radio shack with a 30 day return policy, oh and it's not that i'm worried about an interview... it's that i can't FIND a job :D

and whoaman, i'd DEFINITELY like to know that, cause i'd prefer not having whatever odd software it uses on my system

and seriously... NO one wants me to call them!?

I'm cool with people calling me. though I prefer skype to other forms of communication, atm. my telephone is for business communication now, as I assume it will be recorded and/or monitored if I make international calls.

there needs to be an open version of skype, that does similar p2p routing techniques with encrypted calls. I would switch to that shit tomorrow if it existed. really tired of not having a free, secure form of communication anymore.
